The Brazilian Favelas against the teal green hills inspired this work. Reminiscent of my foreign exchange experience close to São Paulo, Brazil, this painting captures the anarchic order of spontaneous architecture. Pareidolia may be responsible for the effect of projecting human faces and traits onto the residences that crowd along the hillside.

The unique patchwork aesthetic is melded with intense colour schema, blanketing the buildings in a golden light as the sun rises over this jungle city.
